Living in the inner city is filled with challenges. The kids we serve face constant pressure and turmoil caused by gang and drug violence, as well as many other negative influences. In order to provide an opportunity for these kids to experience life beyond their neighborhoods, we have Metro Kids Camp on the first weekend of June. Metro Camp is a highlight of the year for so many of the kids who attend our programs every week. Each child who comes to camp gets to spend a fun, peace-filled weekend where they get to just be kids, free of the constant troubles they are surrounded by in the inner city.
