Our Story

In 1988, Founders and Directors Clay & Barbara Wallace began operating five buses in a local church in Dallas. These buses picked up over 300 children every week, where Clay & Barbara would teach the children solid biblical truths, while giving them hope for a future. After five years, they stepped out on their own to form Dallas Metro.

In 1993, with one converted moving truck, Clay, Barbara and their team of volunteers began ministering to over a thousand children every week. Over the years, they added locations, trucks, and staff. As they encountered needs in the community, they developed programs to address those needs. A youth program, a church, a weekly food distribution program, summer camp, and holiday giveaways all formed due to spending time ministering to children.

We are committed to the communities we serve. The children and their families depend on us to show up every single week. Every child we encounter deserves to have hope. Through the programs of Dallas Metro, we bring hope and vision to the inner-city.

We believe that the last three decades in ministry are only the foundation. There are still thousands of hurting children in Dallas, and we won’t rest until we have spread the hope that is found in Jesus to all corners of our city.
